The Plainfield Mutual Support Network (PMSN) has been organized as a response to the COVID-19 crisis that provided a variety of services to individuals and families in need. Today, we continue as a group of your neighbors who offer financial support to meet exceptional, short-term needs due to unexpected conditions. To inquire about eligibility contact Erik Burcroff at 413-266-1587. For a ride within the hill towns or to an appointment in Northampton or Pittsfield contact Jeanne Sargent at 413-634-0170 or if it is an emergency text her at 413-522-1687.
Goals
- Coordinate between those who need assistance as a result of an emergency or unexpected circumstance and those who wish to lend a hand
- Provide information about local services that can offer longer term assistance.
- Request donations from neighbors who want to assure that the PMSN has the financial resources to help neighbors in need.
- Encourage residents to volunteer as drivers or helpers who might shovel snow, take trash to the transfer station or offer phone support to residents who are homebound.
NOTE: This is a network for nonemergency needs and assistance. If you are experiencing an emergency, please dial 911. If you have a safety concern that is not an emergency, please contact the Plainfield Police Department.
